A good friend of mine invited me to a yoga class….yikes. yoga.
I’m a cardio girl and live for a good sweat so when she asked me to go…I would dodge this like a bullet. After a few very hard weeks of work I knew I needed to do something else. So I headed to Y2 Yoga studio to try out a class called Long Slow Deep.
The class…was HARD. But it made me realize that I can do anything that I wanted to because I decided to do it.
I think a lot of us think that we can’t do it because we just cannot focus on what IS possible. My best friend reminds me of this every day and this yoga class really told me…I can definitely do the pigeon if I put my mind to it. Hey…I couldn’t run a 1/4 of a mile when I first started a training program I had to have said I could do it at one time right?
There will be more to come on my adventures of yoga and trying this new workout. It was enlightening and had me sore for days after. Today though, I want to emphasize, just like the yoga class I took, that the beauty of health and knowing that YOU can do anything you put your mind to is by simply saying…
If you think you can’t run an extra half of mile- just try it…I bet you, you can.
If you think you can’t hold off on that extra piece of chocolate- walk away from it and be impressed with yourself
If you think you can’t do an extra set of sit ups…try it- it’s going to burn but keep going through each rep and you’ll get to your final number in no time.
Today…I want you to do something you wouldn’t normally do. Like I did, I went to a yoga class. I had no idea what I was in for….but I tried it. And now….I can say if I liked it or not because I went to experience it. Try anything…most fitness studios and gyms will let you take a free class. If you don’t have a studio around you….go outside and try out 10 pushups…or even better YOU decide what you think you can’t do and DO IT.
Have a great day- remember that you CAN do anything you put your mind to. Your body will tell you if it’s time to stop not YOU and your mind.
Best of luck, I look forward to hearing how your “cans” work out!
