Iced coffee…calorie killer?

Okay…I am one of those types of people who is an advocate for a healthy lifestyle but not stressing over every single calorie (hence Chocolate Covered Crunches) however I had a wake up call when I decided to use Siri for the first time 🙂

I learned that Siri can find the calorie counts for foods for you and looked at my desk to decide what to calculate.  I saw one of my loves…an iced coffee from Starbucks. Well….I’m glad I asked because I learned a lot from asking Siri. Don’t get mad at the messenger! Just make sure to drink in small quantities as the sugars can add up!

So…sorry folks. I know it’s a buzz killer for all those coffee drinkers out there struggling to pick up the mug and drink hot coffee in this extreme heat.  Recommendation for Iced Coffee addicts like myself? Don’t go through a drive thru, go into the store, ask for skim milk and no sugar. Just look at the difference in McDonald’s coffee’s Sugar Free and regular iced coffee, you could say 100 calories!

  1. When you order an Iced Coffee at Starbucks they almost always automatically put a couple of pumps of their classic sweetener in it. Ask for an Iced coffee with skim, no sweetener, SO GOOD! If you get sugar free, they will put sugar free sweetener, aka artificial sweetener. It is not good for you and tastes bad in in my opinion.
