Well..Olympic week, next question: What do athletes eat while they are competing?

This question came up because my two best friends had competed in the World Championships in Thailand as team USA and they told me about the food they had. Now…remember, they played in Thailand so rice was very important.

Here’s what Men’s Fitness just posted about what’s cooking in the Olympic Village.

The Olympic Committee shipped in:

  • 25,000 loaves of bread
  • 232 tons of potatoes
  • 31 tons of poultry
  • 82 tons of seafood
  • 21 tons of cheese
  • 75,000 liters of milk
  • 330 tons of fruit and vegetables!

Remember, Olympic athletes sometimes need up to 5,000 calories a day because of the training and work they do in competition.
