I did not think I was going to get to this day! This week was so long. No matter, I hope you all had a wonderful week.
This week I have had some great conversation.
Yesterday after talking to my dad, he made me realize that time is important. Time is critical to how we function (obviously) but also tells us that we need to use the time. We are so worried about the mistakes we are making, working away our days and coming home and doing doing doing that we never take a moment to just enjoy time.
Last night, after this conversation I decided to enjoy time and go to the Carolina Panthers tailgate with a few new girlfriends I’ve met. I can tell you that I enjoyed that time, even so I came home to run 2 miles with Phin because of my happiness.
I just took the time to do what I wanted to do and all the other pieces just feel into place.
This week I had some good conversation with a few friends who have been feeling the way I’ve been feeling. I call it the 20’s syndrome (nice and easy) where all you see is this whirlwind of to-do’s and tasks, families being started, marriages, etc. It’s overwhelming to turn on your Facebook and see this some times (I’m just being honest!)
I think it’s the same thing about what my dad was talking to me about- time. We need to realize we are all ourselves (married with kids, no kids, feeling absolutely crazy with no career, or burnt out and looking to just backpack through Europe) and that we need to be ourselves. Appreciate the time and just do. Embrace what you have and just be.
Easier said than done…especially with all of these constant reminders like Facebook and the 24/7 nature of our culture being “on” all the time but isn’t that part of the challenge?
