I don’t like to comment on government most of the time.
Most of it is because honestly, there are arguments to both side of the equation and I reason with both of them….most of the time.
The reason I bring this up is because sometimes when a company decides to make the right decision, no matter what it is, it just makes it pretty awesome (my opinion of course). With that being said, the best thing these companies could get is the “good PR.” Small blog or not, I am going to share this story as my part to them.
According to Bloomberg, there are approximately 400 Disney employees who are being offered full time status so that they can qualify for health benefits under the Affordable Care Act.
This report also notes companies like Papa Johns, UPS and Sea World are firing employees so that they do not have to qualify for the health benefit parameters, according to the Obama Care Act.
Here’s my favorite part of this report:
“Happier employees makes for happier customers and by giving workers health insurance, Disney is doing both in spite of Republican claims that Obamacare is bad for the country.”
Goes to show, there is good in corporate America. No matter what side of the fence you are on.
Good for you Disney, I’ll watch another Disney movie today in honor of you guys.
